Original calf, newly rebacked reusing the original label; new free front endpaper (on compatible paper); the second and third leaves of gathering '1' (the second and third leaves of Genesis) are slightly pulled, with minor fraying to their outer edges, but otherwise the text is in very good condition throughout. There is an errata slip tipped in, facing the blank verso of the last leaf of Revelation. ***Herbert 1793; Hills 826; with an ownership inscription of an early (perhaps the first) owner inside the front cover and his name stamp to the inner margin of the title; a nice copy of the FIRST edition, quite scarce and much sought after. $8000.
