A Great Bible:

The Byble in English, ...  London: Edwarde Whitchurche, 1549.  Large folio, old calf, newly rebacked; brass corners & centerpieces; lacks general title & with the 5 preliminary leaves are defective, with two being bound back to front.  The bottom outer corner is torn from Numbers 32, slightly removing text; at Esther 2 & 3 in the outer margin is the ownership inscription 'Richard Bartram his book .... 1799'.  Also lacking are K1 (Romans 12) and the last 4 leaves of Revelation (O9-12).  Though the outer margins are frayed front & rear, the text generally is quite good.  ***Herbert 76    $20,000.
